The Covid pandemic has demonstrated an acceleration in the essential role of drivers and couriers, and the need for tailored insurance solutions.
How:
- Allianz Partners will offer products under Uber’s Partner Protection program, covering independent drivers and couriers that use the Uber and Uber Eats apps across 23 European countries.
- The coverage includes loss of income in case of on-trip accidents, injury, or hospitalizations, as well as off-trip benefits, such as paid sick leave for up to 15 days, maternity and paternity payments, and inconvenience compensations for court attendance.
- Uber’s Partner Protection program, which was introduced as an industry-first by Uber in 2017, is designed to cater specifically to the needs of independent drivers and couriers. It is free of charge and automatically available to all independent partners who meet the respective Uber eligibility criteria, with all costs borne by Uber.
